Tucson’s first and finest resort.

I recently had the chance to enjoy a getaway with my family at the beautiful and historic Westward Look.  I had not been to the resort prior, and I can honestly say that I will be staying here anytime I am in Tucson.  Upon arrival, I was taken in by the beautiful desert landscape, magnificent mountain views, and immediately knew this resort was truly a Tucson treasure!

We experienced superior customer service while at the resort and were even surprised with a sweet treat upon check in.  I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a more spacious room.  Our Casita Jr. Suite was beautifully furnished, with just the right mixture of modern and southwestern charm.  The bed, pillows and robe (the way to this girl’s heart!) were luxurious and soft.  Our accommodations were truly exceptional.

One of the first things I wanted to do when we arrived was go for a walk to check out the resort and soak up the cooler weather.  The resort grounds were by far some of the prettiest I have ever seen, especially in Arizona.  Tucked away at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the resort is located on 80 acres of botanical garden with over 240 plant species. Be sure to set time aside to walk the trails and enjoy the serene gardens!

During our visit, I came to find out that this amazing Tucson resort has incredibly rich history:

The resort grew from an elegant hacienda-style family home built less than six months after Arizona became a state in 1912.  The name, Westward Look, came from an emotion packed speech to the British nation by Sir Winston Churchill on April 27, 1941, after World War II began.

04 Westward Look | North Phoenix Moms BlogI would recommend this distinctive Tucson resort to anyone.  The perfect place to escape, relax and enjoy all the southwest has to offer.  The resort offers many activities including horseback riding, tennis, hiking and biking.  And don’t forget about the spa, one of Tucson’s best!   Born and raised in Phoenix, this desert dwelling native is hard to impress, and I could not get enough of the resort’s tranquil beauty.  I cannot wait to return.

With rates starting at $99 per night with breakfast for stays through September 8th, this would be the perfect place for Labor Day weekend or anytime you are looking to get away.  For more information about Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa, you can follow them on:
