How to Get a Workout in AND Have Childcare Covered

How to Get a Workout in AND Have Childcare CoveredThis may sound a bit simplified, but getting a workout in is how I remain a sane and happy mom. Anybody else with me on that?  The mixture of endorphins, plus sweating out all my worries, gives me patience and keeps me level-headed as I parent my adorable, yet tyrannical, two-year old.

Now, I’ve always loved working out, but one challenge I found after I became a new mom was how to keep working out, since I wasn’t too keen on the idea of putting her in a big day care center (at least in the beginning.)  Fast-forward two years later, and I have three mom-friendly workout places that I LOVE!

As a side note, this is not a sponsored post; these are all places I personally work out at and love, so I had to share!  I’d love to see you there!

Modern Milk Workout North Phoenix Moms Blog

Modern Milk

A yoga/barre studio + education center all in one, Modern Milk is a new and expecting mama’s haven! Lots of choices to workout WITH baby. Prenatal Yoga, Mommy & Me Yoga, Baby-Wearing Dance Class, Barre and Flow Yoga are among the offerings, plus there’s a small childcare center an arm’s length away. There’s also education courses ranging from Breastfeeding Support to Birth and Labor Prep. Plus, a boutique is at the front of the store filled with unique products for mama + baby.  Their motto: Happy Mom = Happy Baby.

Barre3

Barre3

In my experience, Barre3 is one of the quickest ways to get lean muscles!  When my hubby and I took a baby-free vacation at the start of the summer, Barre3 got me feeling confident in my bikini. With two locations (North Scottsdale and Paradise Valley), they offer 8+ workout times a day, and 2-3 of those classes also coincide with childcare. The childcare center is right next to the workout room, so you can easily check on your little one. Plus, they also have a Barre3 Online program that you can access at home on the days your little one is sick or you just can’t make it out of the house.

Finding your village has never been easier with the Fit4Mom’s Stroller Strides program that allows you to workout while pushing your little one in a stroller. With locations all across the valley (Metro Phoenix, Phoenix & Scottsdale and Peoria/Surprise) you’ll meet fellow moms that are also your neighbors, and bonding and friendships happen quickly here in my experience! Stroller Strides is their bootcamp style class, and Stroller Barre is a lower impact workout that incorporates ballet/pilates. There is also an additional option called Body Back for moms that want to intensify their workouts that includes before and after assessments.

If you’ve been struggling to get out of the house and workout now that you’re a mom…run, don’t walk, to one of these programs!
