Safari Kits

This is a sponsored post where I was invited to attend the Kindness Safari but my opinions are my own and I encourage KINDness.

If you are like us you strive to instill good values in your children at a young age. Have courage and be kind is our family motto! Well KIND is partnering with discovery-based online retailer, zulily, to host Kindness Safaris at 20 zoos across the country – including Phoenix Zoo, to show kids how easy and fun it can be to do kind acts every day!

The event includes a kit for kids attending. There is a kindness tracker for them to keep track of all their kindness acts for the week as well as compliment cards the kids are encouraged to hand out to people that make them smile, or thanking them for something kind that they did for them. The kindness safari is a cute ‘check off’ list that kids are encouraged to do while at the zoo:

  • Give someone a bear hug
  • Draw a picture of themselves ‘monkeying’ around with friends
  • Take a family photo
  • Thank a zookeeper

In addition, attendees will receive flowers upon leaving to pass on to someone else as well as a take-home kindness kit that comes in a complimentary lunch tote that kids can color on. There will be kindness safari at the Phoenix Zoo on May 16th from 9:30am to 3pm! If you would like to learn more about the event and information on tickets, visit  http://www.zulily.com/kind. We hope to see you there!!!

  1. I’m working on kindness with my kids, mostly towards each other. Kindness to us is being aware and considerate of other people’s feelings.

  2. We’ve tried to show our kids that kindness is giving what you can to those around you. Your hamburger or $ to someone in need, sharing toys with friends, smiling at others… We all have something to give, even our little ones!

  3. Everyday I try to show my family kindness in action. If we see someone hungry we give them a granola bar and a bottle of water, if we see a dog running lose with no owner we try to find it’s owner and yesterday-we saw a women struggling with her groceries and her toddler so I helped her load her car. Each day is a chance to show that kindness exists on all levels-great and small. Kindness is doing something for someone else with no strings attached.

  4. To me, teaching kindness means demonstrating that we treat others the way that we would like to be treated. It’s being nice to the kid at school that said something mean about my daughter, or teaching her to speak her thoughts to others with love rather than a sharp tongue. Hard work!

  5. Kindness to us means we consider our words and actions before we speak or do something, and think about the consequences of them.

  6. Being kind is what I try to teach my 15 month old son everyday. From being gentle with out animals, to sharing a toy with a friend, to sharing lunch with mommy. The best way to do this of course is to be the kindness I wish to see 🙂

  7. Kindness is something that is more caught than taught. We need to be kind to our kids and demonstrate what it means to be kind to others. At the end of each day we have to ask ourselves are we being who we want our children to grow up to be.

  8. Being kind is a small way to make the world a positive place. Easy too and fun! It’s contagious when you are kind to all and do nice things – so I tell my little ones turn that frown upside down when this tested.

  9. Being kind is one of the most important lessons/values we can teach our children. If everyone was just a little more kind, this world would be a better and happier place to live in. Everyone is going through some kind of struggle. And kids, kids can be mean if not taught differently, if we teach our kids to be kind that will be one less struggle kids have to deal with.

  10. Teaching my kids to be kind to others show what kind of parent i am. We always are in action of learning outdoors from saying please to asking if an elderly person needs help with groceries:)))))

  11. I am trying to teach my child that kindness is an everyday thing and it can be found in the smallest ways..Beginning when my daughter was old enough to talk..when we see firemen, policemen, emts. Etc..in places like a store she always goes up to them and thanks them for the job that they do..They are so appreciative of that.
