Happy Hostess: Toddler Playdate Ideas for Summer!

1

Here are three toddler tested playdate themes to keep your little ones engaged during the summer.

1. Gone Fishing!

Guess where all the items were purchased? At the dollar store! It is always my first go-to for every toddler playdate!

Looking to create some great learning opportunities – pick different objects that come in a variety of colors for your pool. Tell your toddler what to “fish” out of the “pond,” you’ll be working on their receptive language while they are having a blast! “Fish out something PINK!” “Fish out a BALL!” Then switch it up and let your toddler tell you what to “fish” out, I promise you if your toddlers are anything like mine they’ll like this part the best.

2. At the carwash!

Tell your toddler friends to bring over their favorite vehicle for the ultimate carwash! Provide buckets with sponges, rags, squirt bottles, and loofahs and let them scrub, scrub, scrub.

3. Cupcake Decorating

Make sure to purchase individual trays for every toddler if you want the frosting to stay off your walls! This was by far a popular one for both moms and toddlers, so make sure to whip up enough cupcakes. Want to keep everyone’s clothing clean? Buy some white aprons, ribbon, and fabric pens and have your toddler crew decorate their own.
